Lemmon and its area is an all-season kind of place. It is surrounded by sprawling ranches, farms and a lot of wildlife, which is great for fishermen and hunters of course.
The area of Lemmon has much to offer. Here is a list of things to see or do:
- At Shadehill Recreation Area you can relax on the beach or go fishing (5000 acres of water & 100 miles of shoreline)
- In Lemmon you will also find the world's largest Petrified Wood Park. This park is built entirely of petrified wood, fossils and stone. This tourist attraction is definetly worth a look.
- The area is a great place for hunting and fishing. There is a big variarity of animals, like: whitetail and mule deer, antelope, pheasants, grouse, Canadian geese, partridge, turkeys, prairie dogs, large-mouth bass, perch, northern, walleyes, crappies and more. It is a paradise for hunters and fishermen!
- Lemmon is 3 hours away from Sturgis, which is the home of the Sturgis Bike Rally.
- It is also 3.5 hours away from Mount Rushmore, which you definetly have to see some time!
- In Lemmon town we have the Grand River Museum, a museam about the history of the area. It is located at: 114 10th Street West.
